Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 May 2026
Onword is an offline reading app for iOS. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it. The short version: Onword does not collect any of your data.
No accounts. No servers. No analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind. Everything you create or change in the app stays on your device.
The short version
- We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.
- There are no servers and no accounts — there is nothing to sign up for.
- Everything you create or change in the app stays on your device.
- We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind.
Information we collect
None. Onword has no backend and no analytics. We never receive your reading content, your settings, your usage, or any identifiers.
Information stored on your device
So the app remembers your setup between launches, Onword saves the following locally, on your device only:
- Your preferences — reading speed, typeface, reader style, colors, and similar settings.
- Your library — any articles or text you import.
- Your reading progress — how far through each item you are.
This information never leaves your device and is never sent to us or anyone else. Deleting the app removes all of it.
Internet access
Onword works fully offline, with one exception: importing from a web link. When you paste a URL to import an article, the app fetches that page directly from the website you chose, solely to extract its text for you to read. That request goes to the third-party website you specified — it does not pass through us, and we do not see, log, or store it. Any site you fetch from is subject to its own privacy practices.
No other feature accesses the internet. The fonts and all other content are bundled inside the app.
Tracking
Onword does not track you across other apps or websites, and does not use the device advertising identifier. Under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, Onword performs no tracking.
Third parties
Onword contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not share or sell data, because we do not collect any.
Children's privacy
Onword collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Your choices
Because all of your data lives on your device, you are in full control of it. You can delete imported items within the app at any time, and deleting the app erases all locally stored preferences and content.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
